The Social Council of the University of Murcia has adopted unanimously at its plenary session today entity Budget 2015 for a total amount of 184 million euros.

During the meeting, the Rector Orihuela and the Chairman of Social Council, Javier Ruano, explained as the negotiations with the Autonomous Region have passed and both have shown their satisfaction at having reached an understanding that will allow ensuring the economic viability of the University of Murcia next year.

Both Ruano as Orihuela wanted to thank the efforts made throughout the negotiating process by the President of the Region of Murcia, Alberto Garre, and the Directors of Education, Culture and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sánchez;

and Finance, Francisco Martinez, and, that done by everyone parliamentary groups of the Regional Assembly.

During the development of the whole, was approved the proposal for Javier Ruano allocate 10,000 euros consisting of the Social Council's budget to increase social background that the University of Murcia has to support economically disadvantaged students.

This agreement was considered by the attendees of special relevance because they consider necessary to do everything possible so that no student is out of school for economic reasons.

The Chair of the Social Council urged members representing business organizations and chambers of commerce as well as the president of the union of cooperatives, also a member of this institution representing the socio-economic interests of the Region to encourage its associated companies and cooperatives acceptance of a greater number of trainees that will improve the employability of the students of the University of Murcia.

Finally, Javier Ruano reported the timetable for carrying out the macroconsulta among students of the University of Murcia, adopted in the previous plenary, which aims to capture the main issues of concern to them.

This schedule has been agreed with the representatives of the students of the educational institution and intends to carry out a first working meeting in the first week of February 2015, upon completion of the exam period.
