The Municipal Observatory of the Bicycle (OMB), an advisory body of the City of Murcia which will promote cycling as safely possible, held this week, particularly in the afternoon yesterday, the last session 2014.
One of the issues addressed by the OMB was the proposals submitted by four companies advertising the municipality of Murcia for launching a public awareness campaign to achieve respect between cyclists and pedestrians.
Marevents, La Negrita, Spokesperson and Bangbranding presented their proposals, which will be evaluated and studied by members of the Observatory.
Regarding the closed bicycle parking, the observatory decided to locate the seven new spaces in six places most votes from the public through the website.
This is the artillery barracks, Salitre Garden, Garden of Fame, Fofó, La Seda and The Polygon Infante.
The most voted seventh place was changed to a more demands by citizens: Young Futura.
Recall that last week, on December 12, the voting period closed to choose locations by citizens.
The Environment Service also offered the possibility of exposing other locations to install bicycle parking closed.
Of all the proposals and views submitted by citizens, the Futura Young urbanization was one of the proposals more demands.
The last meeting of the year OMB also served to make known to all members the awarding of municipal service bicycle rental MUyBICI.
In addition to reporting the improvements that offer the service from the first quarter of 2015, the observatory agreed to study and evaluate the locations of the benches for anchoring bicycles because the petition consisted of 40 benches in the beginning and the contractor the service expanded to 60 benches, so the OMB determine these 20 benches, plus examine and proposals.
The last item on the agenda was to date the next meeting, which will take place in mid January 2015.
The OMB is being commissioned to advise on the design of the strategy of promoting cycling as part of a policy to enhance their participation in the modal split, for among all get more and better sustainable mobility.
