The Rector of the University of Murcia has welcomed today the ceremony to Unicef ​​of the amount raised in solidarity shirts, which has reached 3,400 euros.
The money was obtained through voluntary contributions made people when acquired one of the shirts that the University has distributed free by the acronym UM.
The vice president of Unicef, Andrew Mecca, thanked the gesture of solidarity and sensitivity to the University of Murcia always manifested towards the problems of society.
For its part, the rector, José Orihuela, who has referred to the importance of education to alleviate social inequalities, said that the University provided support action of this nature, while the Vice Chancellor for Student, Miguel Angel Perez, highlighted the intense solidarity work done by the institution during the 2013-2014 year.
This initiative was promoted by the Vice Chancellor of Communication and Culture, José Antonio Gómez, and the manager, Francisco José Pérez, also attended the ceremony.
