With the aim to promote the exchange of knowledge and disciplines between Latin America and Spain under the International Year of Family Farming 2014, powered by FAO, will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, December 17, at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Arts La Merced Campus of the University of Murcia the "First Conference on rural development, cooperatives and agroecology in Latin America: transdisciplinary looks" that attempt to show the processes of transformation of rural areas in Latin America in recent decades and analyze, from a transdisciplinary perspective, the rural world, and particularly the Ecuadorian family farming, as well as their contributions to the social and ecological sustainability of the planet.
The conference, which will be inaugurated at 10 am by the Rector José Orihuela include presentations related to the agricultural cooperatives and agro-ecology, as well as an analysis of sustainable socio-historical processes.
The activity is conducted by Professor Department of Sociology and Social Work Carrillo Germán García and Juan Carlos Solano Lucas, as well as the Dean of Coordination and Graduate School of Economics and Business Bote Marcos Alonso Díaz.
