Tuberculosis and syphilis were diseases commonly discussed by doctors Murcia between 1881 and 1936, as evidenced in Articles many of them published in scientific journals of the time, according to the findings of a thesis doctoral conducted at the University of Murcia.
This research, conducted by Inmaculada Jimenez door at the Faculty of Medicine, also indicates that the predominant specialties in these articles are the physiology and bacteriology.
Among the authors of articles published in a total of eleven health magazines of those years are Guillamón Antonio Conesa, Antonio San Miguel, Belarmino Rodriguez Arias and Juan Antonio Martínez Ladron de Guevara.
The doctoral thesis, which has obtained excellent cum laude, was led by professors at the University of Murcia and Jose Miguel Aguinaga Enrique Gómez Sáez.
