Martinez Conesa has intervened in the section "Current status and perspective local government" with Jordi Joly, Manager of Economics, Business and Employment of the City of Barcelona and Julio Martinez, Councillor of Finance City of Palma de Mallorca.
Under the slogan "turn new challenges of local government into opportunities", have addressed issues related to economic and financial management of local authorities, such as adjustment plans and impact of extraordinary liquidity measures, deficit and sector debt , budgetary stability, according to Eurostat debt and budget estimates for 2015.
Murcia City Council has been invited to the conference as an example of good practice in economic and financial management in local government.
In his speech, Martinez Conesa discussed the measures taken by the city of Murcia in terms of public expenditure control (reviewing contracts downward, saving current spending or freezing of assets), revenue management (payment facilities, measures Tax Justice), implementation of electronic processing or reducing the cost of financial debt.
