The Department of Social Welfare continues to contribute to the integral development of persons with physical disabilities in the municipality to achieve full social and cultural integration.
The City Council has signed an agreement with the Auxilia Murcia association to carry out various programs:
- Program Information and Technical Advice: The aim is to establish open communication channels in order to make available to people with and without disabilities services AUXILIA-MURCIA offers.
Faced with demands for information and guidance counseling, support and / or referral on topics such as accessibility, transportation, assistive technology, employment, health, education, housing, education, volunteering, sport, leisure, grants and pensions, tax benefits is paid, etc. .
- Project Funding and Volunteer Training: Auxilia is a built mainly by volunteers and it is they who carry out the various projects, hence the importance of that entity are sufficiently trained.
In addition, due to the fluctuating nature of volunteering in general, it is necessary to design an annual recruitment campaign in order to have sufficient human resources to maintain services.
- Programme of Leisure and Recreation: The association is considered as a leisure area more training through which the ability to express and share is power, relationship skills, attention, autonomy and learning new knowledge.
- Family Respite Program: Consists of an activity in which groups of children and youth association 7-17 and 18-40 years, respectively, spend a weekend away from their families, live and do different activities of playfulness with other children and youth with and without disabilities.
It also represents a period of respite for caregivers and family members of the disabled, to the physical and emotional burden daily.
- Draft and Body Language Theatre: Through conducting a theater workshop seeks to enhance Auxilia in the group of people with disabilities the skills of daily living, cultural promotion, personal development, psychomotor, communication and use of language, attention, motivation, socialization, etc.
Recipients will be eleven children were in the age group between 16 and 28 years.
- Program Summer Camps: One of the services most demanded by parents of children with disabilities since its inception, because family is a space for them to breathe and their children an opportunity to interact with their peers.
Recipients will be fifteen disabled between 7 and 17 years and nine companions of the same age.
Involved 23 volunteers.
To develop these programs the association offers the services of an educator, responsible for the management of the association, a degree in Drama and a total of 50 volunteers aged 18 to 37, mostly college students.
The Association of Volunteers for Cultural and Social Integration of Persons with Disabilities, AUXILIA-MURCIA is a non-profit organization that emerged in the year 1982 in order to contribute to the development of people with physical disabilities in the Region of Murcia through actions aimed at improving their quality of life and achieve full integration.
