The Cathedral will shine from next Thursday with the new lighting has been installed and includes, for the first time, Cruz Hernandez Amores Square and the north side of the Tower.
The new facility has nearly 150 projectors focus the light from different parts of the environment, spread across 47 projectors for lighting imafronte, 51 for the Tower and the Gate of the Chain and 43 for the Episcopal Palace.

The use of wireless technology through its own wifi network for communication and control between the control center and projectors, makes this facility one of the pioneers and most innovative in the architectural lighting sector in the country.
With this new lighting will reduce 78% power compared to the previous installation and will prevent the emission into the atmosphere of nearly 96 tonnes of CO2 per year, which will mean an annual saving of nearly 36,000 euros.
The project promoted by the City, through the Department of Urban Quality, in collaboration with the Diocese, has been carried out and fully funded by the concessionaire of the maintenance of public lighting, Electromur.
The premiere of this new lighting, next Thursday, will have its own soundtrack thanks to the Choir Fernández Caballero, who plays the part Lumen, a work for mixed chorus, orchestra and tenor solo written especially for the occasion by Margarita Muñoz, director of the Choir Orchestra.
