The importance of the tourism sector on the economy of the region has been highlighted during the ceremony for the awards each year gives the School of Tourism at the University of Murcia and was held in the Casino of the city.
This year, the winners with tourism Pigeons have been the Wine Routes of Bullas, Yecla and Jumilla;
the Meeting of crews Patino, and the TVE series "Wonder Years".
The distinction Wine Routes was collected by Francisco Carreño and Juan Sebastián García Pedro Brown, presidents, respectively, of Bullas, Yecla and Jumilla.
The Meeting of crews for the Patino was delivered to the president of the club La Hijuela, while the television series was the hands of Clarisa Guercovich, commercial director, and Manuel Cal, actor of the series.
During his speech, the Rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela said the social recognition that counts the School of Tourism, "who for decades taught, and taught well."
For his part, the Deputy Director of Academic Planning, Pilar López, put special emphasis on the importance of tourism in regional development, while the Minister of Industry, Tourism, Business and Innovation, Juan Carlos Ruiz, said the region grows in this sector above the national average.
For Ruiz, "you can not think about the development of the region without this sector, which is the engine of the first order."
The event was attended exrectores University and former directors of the school, along with the recently appointed to this position, Professor, Faculty of Economics and Business Angel Pascual Martínez Soto.
