The mayor, Miguel Angel House, and the president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, Miguel Ángel Ródenas, will meet next on 21 with the director general of Water, Liana Sandra Ardiles, to include the works of the Special Plan of Hydraulic Infrastructures North Zone of Murcia in the Budget of the Ministry Agriculture, Food and Environment 2015.
Disturbances produced in that specific area of the municipality when rainfall events occur will be mitigated with stormwater interceptor, that will solve the disposal problems especially in the districts of Espinardo, the strut, Churra and Cabeza de Torres.
The action involves the construction of an underground water structure to collect water from the wadis before it reaches the city and channel it in a controlled manner along nearly seven miles of pipes, from east to west, from the Rambla del Carmen to the Segura River.
Taking advantage of the development of the commercial areas of the north, a stretch of stormwater interceptor was constructed with a length of 450 meters.
In recent years we have executed three sections of the Special Plan for Water Infrastructure in the Northern Zone, corresponding to the area of economic and commercial activity, and two sections on the North Coast, including Juan Carlos I and Juan de Borbón, funded City Council with a cost of 8 million euros.
