The October 10, 1990 Ramon Gaya Museum opened its doors to the public with a collection that the artist donated generously to the city of his birth.
Since then, the museum keeps its doors open for a cultural landmark in our city, with ethical and aesthetic criteria that makes a singular figure of Ramón Gaya.
Two ephemeris give the starting signal of the activities of this season.
On the one hand, to mark the anniversary of the Museum XXIV on Friday 10th October, the flamenco sound again and will be at the Museum by José Antonio Gil Bermudez "The Powder" accompanied on guitar by Blas Martinez.
José Antonio Gil Bermudez "The Powder" Calasparra singer with a great personality and impressive voice, a child he comes his love of traditional flamenco.
Their repertoires are based on the verses of Solano, Quintero and Zambras Quiroga.
This time will accompany Blas Martinez, a rising star of the guitar that he studied at the Conservatory of Murcia.
Furthermore, on October 15, the ninth anniversary of the death of Ramón Gaya is fulfilled.
This year we will remember the classic Accordion Narciso García Jiménez.

The Altar of the Dead is a key element in all Mexican traditions, which is to install domestic monuments, under the belief that the spirits of the dead return from the underworld to do what he enjoyed in life and live with their families for a day.
The Day of the Dead is a Mexican pre-Hispanic celebration honoring the dead on November 2, beginning on November 1, and coincides with the Catholic celebrations of All Souls Day and All Saints.
Considered Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, in the ceremony held in Paris, France on 7 November 2003, UNESCO honored the Indian festival of Day of the Dead as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Group exhibition bringing together pictures of Ramón Gaya and painters throughout the year to participate in dialogues ... And Ramón Gaya, in his second season with the painters Araceli Reverte, Christopher Toval, Carlos Pardo, Severo Almansa, Antonio Martinez Mengual Esteban Bernal, Miguel and Carmen Fructuoso Cantabella.
This year continues the third cycle entitled "Poets in the Museum", where you can listen to poets of our land.
The Reading Club is an activity that began last year in order to assist the promotion of reading.
This year we will read 'Platero and I' by Juan Ramón Jiménez, 'Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz' Octavio Paz, 'The Dwellings' and' Book of the Foundations' Santa Teresa de Jesus, 'Exemplary Novels' and' The Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes.
The museum also continues to teach, it is an activity in which each month is analyzed and explained a text of Ramón Gaya belonging to Spanish Miracle.

The Museum in the summer
Summer is a time where people rest, traveling, reading.
Therefore, the Museo Ramón Gaya want during this time to increase their cultural and kept very much alive for the holidays.
This summer will be screened in the audiovisual room and Ramón Gaya cycle cities, films by great directors to travel to great places.
Moreover, the second edition of The Gaya breakfast will be focused on observation and exploration of the concept that defines the "modern city": How cities are built modernas- During the second Thursday of each month and in seven games will be dealt with various aspects of the city.

NIGHT OF MUSEUMS
The "Night of Museums" is an activity created by the Museums of France to attract audiences to museums around the International Museum Day.
The eleventh edition of 'Night of Museums' will take place in France and the rest of Europe on Saturday, May 16, 2015.
The Ramón Gaya Museum adds as the only museum that celebrates two consecutive nights: the night of Friday 15 and Saturday 16 May.

INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY
The Museum Ramon Gaya, celebrates 'International Museum Day', and on May 18 guided tours and a concert in the Plaza Santa Catalina is made, among other activities.
