The "Mayors'Adapt" initiative was created with the joint goal of reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and mitigate the impact of climate change globally and in our cities.

The signatory cities undertake to contribute to the overall objective of the adaptation strategy of the EU through the development of a Local Strategy and / or integrating climate change adaptation into existing municipal plans.
Regardless of the option chosen, the city of Murcia is committed to complying with the following milestones:
Assess potential risks and vulnerabilities of climate change as a basis for priority adaptation measures.
Identify and assess adaptation measures and classify them in order of priority by developing and presenting a strategy of local adaptation or adaptation respective relevant documents, including the results of the vulnerability assessment, clearly defining responsibilities and resources and introducing adaptation measures, within the two years following the formal signing of the commitment.
Apply local adaptation measures.
Regularly monitor and evaluate progress.
Submit a report every two years as part of the initiative.
Adapt the local adaptation strategy accordingly.
All these objectives, commitments and challenges are reflected in the "Commitment of Accession to the Mayors'Adapt Initiative", as reflected in the attached document Annex I to that proposal.
