The ONG'D Karit Solidarity for Peace today presented to pupils in Primary 6 and 1 of the ESO CIS Studies Center (Murcia) the work done by this organization in the poorest countries.
The Councillor for Equality Policies and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, attended the talk and explained that this activity is part of the events organized by the City Council, in collaboration with ONG'D occasion of the Week of Cooperating that is developed these days.
Karit Solidarity for Peace is a non-governmental development organization, linked to the Carmelite family, working since 1996 in countries such as Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay, Argentina, Burkina Faso, Congo, Rwuanda, Indonesia, Timor , Kenya and Mozambique.
It has 527 members and 226 volunteers, as well as 12 offices in Spain.
From its development projects over 50,000 people, and 200 people from their social care projects benefiting.
Among other things, involved in the construction of health centers, housing for needy families, access to clean water, promotion of local artisans, improving sports facilities, social care, volunteer training, building kitchens for children, etc.
