The NGO Solidarity for Peace Karit participate in Week of Cooperating with the exhibition 'A caring gaze' of Lima (Peru) and Africa 'Views of life'.
This photographic exhibition disclosed the work of NGOs in Africa and Peru, and the life of its people, their culture and their way of seeing and understanding their reality.
The Councillor for Equality Policies and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, inaugurated this morning the exhibition can be seen at the Municipal Center of El Carmen, until September 28, Monday to Friday from 11.00 to 13.00 and from 17.00 to 20.00 hours.
Peru, 'A caring gaze', is a collection of photographs taken in October 2006 by volunteers of the NGO Karit Solidarity for Peace in the sector José Gálvez, settlement area on the outskirts of Lima (Peru).
They show human landscapes, from the eyes of a parent living with the uncertainty of the future of their own families to look back to see last fleeing their homes terror and hunger of mountains or the jungle.
Africa, "Views of life 'are 25 images showing a continent full of color, joy and riches while dragging armed conflict, arms trafficking, trade rules;
that generate hunger and disease.
However, the show aims to bring the African reality from a different perspective, a look over 25 years of experience in 36 of the 48 African countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
A work experience in community, community strength, an unconditional support to the hardest-hit towns, in conflict and in the most remote and forgotten places where very few get very little or remain.
Karit Solidarity for Peace is an organization of development cooperation working since 1996 as a response to the reality of the neediest countries.
The organization develops a large number of projects of development cooperation and social awareness preferably considering actions that benefit the reconstruction of countries, health and education.
