The UCAM held the Second International Conference on Language, Literature and Cultural Studies in Modern Languages ​​on Wednesday and Thursday.
The symposium, organized by the Department of Languages, is aimed at teaching and research in the field of modern languages, and aims to be sharing stage research in this area.
This second edition of the Congress, is more focused on the context of the teaching and learning of modern languages ​​in all areas.
It should detail the modern languages ​​comprise all that are not dead, and spoken today, including: English;
the Spanish;
French;
German;
Portuguese, and Italian.
The symposium will take place multiple lectures and oral communications, to be held in the Chapter House of the Monastery of Jeronimos, as well as in classrooms 1 and 2 in Hall 5, respectively.
Notably, the speakers who will take part in the Congress: James Milton, Swansea University (Wales);
Antonio Ballesteros, National University of Distance Education (UNED), and Carlos Periñán-Pascual, of the University of Valencia (UPV).
New degree in Modern Languages
In relation to the matter to be discussed at the Congress, it is noteworthy that the UCAM teaches this course for the first time, the Degree in Modern Languages.
"Our main goal is an optimal training students in the use of two foreign languages ​​(English-German or English-French), knowledge of their culture, economy and history to assure a successful incorporation into the workplace," says Thomas Schmidt, director of Grado, the deadline for registration is now open after being verified by the ANECA, and is pending approval by the CARM.
The student may choose two specializations or tracks: Language and intercultural mediation, and teaching and learning of foreign languages.
