The group of volunteers from the Catholic University of Murcia who left a month ago to the most deprived areas of Peru, have already returned to Murcia after carrying out cooperative activities and development in various fields.
Through the International Institute of Charity and Volunteer John Paul II University, the expedition was able to develop the fields related to health and training, especially in children, in cities like Lima, Pachacutec, and Iquitos activities Arequipa.
Among the tasks are developed and rehabilitative health interventions carried out by physiotherapists and nurses in the medical center and schools, as well as visits to the shanty town of Pachacutec.
In addition, computer workshops, social skills and photography were conducted, and worked in schools with children aged six to twelve years in craft workshops, theater, math, grammar and sporting activities.
Volunteers also developed work with youth in juvenile detention centers with sports, leisure and recreation, support, evangelism and in preparation for the training of educators.
Training Plan
The Pontifical Council Cor Unum, the Vatican Pontifical Council, instructed the UCAM a training plan, unique in the world, for people working in social work and charity through the Catholic Church.
The first action of this training has been realized through a collaboration agreement with the Archdiocese of Arequipa (Peru), with which the Catholic University will provide two international degrees, one in Pastoral Development in Charity and other Social.
These programs consist of several modules and itineraries of specialization will be taught by college professors and guest lecturers.
