Councillor for Sports, Miguel Cascales, considers "unacceptable, shameful and worthy of a banana republic the decision of the Football League not to abide by the court order obliging the Real Murcia play this season in the second division."
Therefore urges the president of the Professional Football League, Javier Thebes, to reconsider the decision immediately and supports the judge's order because "judicial decisions must be binding on all Spaniards".
"Real Murcia, its fans, employees and players, this indignity not deserve. Since the government team are confident that the leaders of the League will reconsider and allow the pimentonero club plays in the second division as it is fair ".
If not, Cascales announced that the City Council "is considering the possibility of legal action against the Football League with prejudice that assumes the city not including Real Murcia in the Second Division"
