IU-Greens ask the next Full Council of Murcia that the necessary procedures are initiated to enable participatory budgets and improve the quality of democracy and form of local organization.
This was announced today the coordinator of IU-Greens in the city, Francisco Muñoz, who has emphasized the existence of a "strong need" for citizen participation in public affairs of municipal character.
In this regard, it has insisted that local government is the closest to the citizenry to be having more impact on their living conditions, and has opted for the promotion of "collective participation and equality".
"Democratization, decentralization, responsibility, solidarity and participation in institutions are the means for citizens to regain prominence in political decisions and control of public administration," he added.
