At 20:45 hours yesterday received a call in the room of 091 in which the finding of an artillery shell communicated in a house in the village of Murcia El Palmar.
Once activated the protocol for such incidents, they moved to the agents instead of EOD group (specialist bomb disposal technicians) of the National Police.
Back in the house a security perimeter was established and after take appropriate protective measures, we proceeded to conduct an inspection that revealed that it was an artillery caliber 105 mm, equipped with its system of initiation and explosive charge, weighing about 12 kg.
and a length of 49.5 cm.
Its manufacture dates from the 70s and is of domestic origin.
This inspection could also observe that the projectile was deteriorated and had damage to the part of initiation of the explosive charge, which increased the risk of manipulation.
Once secured, the projectile was transferred with security measures appropriate to the facilities EOD Group, for filing and subsequent destruction.
