More than 1,200 students from 20 different schools visited this year the Nature of Majal Blanco (01/07/2014)

The Nature of Majal Blanco opens each morning through the "Murcia, a city ecology" program of the Department of Environment of the City of Murcia, who heads Adela Martinez-Cache.

Located in the forest estate of the same name, the White Majal, is included within the boundaries of El Valle and Carrascoy Regional Park and is one of the most representative ecosystems of the Region of Murcia, Mediterranean forests, harboring many species of flora and wildlife and a variety of rocks and minerals worth knowing.

Each year, over 1000 children and young people from over 20 schools in the municipality visit our facilities and participate in various activities.

Thus, students in 3rd grade CEIP Juan de la Cierva, Casillas, made a trip back in time to see how the cast was mined in the area and how dehydrated and then ground it in the oven and gypsum in the mill, near the quarry.

Another school that enjoyed this place was the CEIP Federico Arce.

Students Child became for a day in real explorers and discovered some of the plants and animals that lurk there and observed how plants resist our climate through various adaptations.

Anecdotally, a few weeks ago, the Nature of Majal Blanco received a visit from a school with the same name, college Cooperative Majal Blanco.

They were curious to know the place that gave name to the center and used the environment to make orienteering with their students.

Another attraction of the Hall of Nature is the new Visitor Center Majal Blanco, located in the same facility.

Exhibition offers maps, photos and other samples of organic, biological, scenic and historic values ​​that encompasses the Majal Blanco.

This year, we have received 1,200 visits MMAS students from kindergarten to high school, to visit special schools like the Center for Child Protection or Holy Angel IMAS Disability Center El Palmar, interested in participating with us.

Since its launch thousands of children and young people have enjoyed these and other corners keeping Majal Blanco and waiting to be discovered through respect and care for its visitors.
