Murcia IU-Greens today urged the government team to require the concessionaire garden maintenance service, STV, which fumigate tipuanas jacaranda and to prevent the occurrence of aphids and resin impregnation of street furniture and pavements .
Councilman training in the Municipality of the capital, José Ignacio Tornel, which echoed the complaints of citizens, has said he does not understand the "lack of foresight" of that company despite being a fact repeated "year after year" at the time of flowering of tipuanas.
According Tornel, the conclusion offered by experts asked about it is that it has not produced the necessary spraying the trees to avoid the appearance of the pest aphid, which, moreover, could be done by using natural products, instead of pesticides.
He explained that in the gardens where there are many such trees, such as the Constitution, banks are often impregnated with resin, so as to be unusable for the public service, while at other times are sidewalks or parked vehicles who suffer.
"The company STV must take action on the matter at this lack of foresight, given the money that she earns from city coffers, should not occur," the mayor has argued, after adding it expects that the solution is not to cut trees and replaced by others, "as has happened before."
