During this course the university has worked on over 40 voluntary associations
Support for people with intellectual disabilities and children at risk of social exclusion, socio volunteer, care for the hospitalized child, help the elderly, or help in socio-professional reintegration of young people are some of the work done during this course by the hundred students of the Catholic University of Murcia who have worked continuously with the 40 associations with which the university has agreements, and which must be added assistance at certain times.
This strong commitment to volunteerism UCAM has been boosted this morning with the signing of a collaboration agreement between the University and the Murcia Association of Parents and Children with spina bifida (AMUPHEB);
the Guardianship Association of People with Disabilities (ASTUS);
, Development Aid Education (FADE) Foundation
Sewer Marist Social Work Association;
Down Syndrome Foundation of the Region of Murcia (Fundown);
the Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases (ERDF);
and the Association of Children of Bolivia (OIKIA).
Murcia institution collaborates with social and humanitarian organizations through volunteer themselves laborares conducted by the university community, or bringing professionals from various fields scholarships from the UCAM, and financial aid.
The University President, José Luis Mendoza, highlighted during the signing of the agreements, the deeply existential character of the institution, "of giving to others and helping the needy" and thanked the various associations present " by count on us to help you. "
For his part, the Vice Chancellor of University Extension and director of the International Institute of Charity and Volunteer John Paul II, Antonio Alcaraz, highlighted the important role and involvement of students in volunteering, and said that year after year is increasing number of people who want to help.
