The Mayor exposes the environmental achievements of the city in the first conference Smart Cities (05/06/2014)

Miguel Angel House meets with mayors from Santander, Elche, Móstoles and Zamora to assess initiatives undertaken in recent years.

The mayor recalled that Murcia was one of the first European cities to join the Covenant of Mayors EU.

The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, shared this morning a table view to share experiences on the most representative and emblematic of Smart Cities environmental projects developed in recent years in various Spanish cities.

Different mayors have contributed their experiences from a strategic point of view of the social and economic impact of various projects related to the concept of "Smart City" in their respective cities.

SMARTSPACES Project.

The main objective of SmartSpaces is improving energy management in public buildings to achieve savings in energy consumption through the introduction of new technologies to better control, automation and monitoring of consumer installations.

The program includes 11 pilot projects and more than 500 buildings in different countries, with Murcia-Lleida-along with the city chosen for implementation in Spain.

Among the measures to be taken include the installation of sensors that detect when a room is permanently empty, too bright, or a window is opened to stop the HVAC or lighting systems.
