Forty women are involved in a course on prevention and awareness of violence faced by immigrant women, which offers the Department of Equality Policy and CEPAIM-Murcia.
This activity is part of the program 'Coping', through Daphne European project, and lasts for 36 hours, spread over 9 sessions.
The aim is to sensitize and raise awareness of women about violence in all its forms, promote the empowerment of women from all (economic, psychological, social, etc.) levels, providing personal skills to strengthen their security and control his life, offering information on services and legal and existing healthcare resources, and promote the creation of support groups.
Gender violence affects a larger immigrant women living in Murcia.
Of the total cases handled in 2013 by the municipal care team violence were 43% of immigrant women.
