New Javalí opens exhibition 'People's History' on women of the parish who have broken stereotypes (17/05/2014)

The hamlet of New Javalí opened the exhibition 'People's History' on local women who have broken stereotypes.

The sample comes from a lengthy investigation conducted by the Center for Women 'The Weir' on the figure of the midwife Josefa Martinez del Cerro (1844-1958) and the teacher Juana Ruiz Sánchez (1886-1928), adjacent to the hamlet, who have excelled in their work, effort and contribution to the social life of the people.

Councilmember Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, explained that the project 'People's History', which was held at the Women's Centers and Senior Centers of the strut, Santa Eulalia, San Juan and San Antolin, aims to highlight the figure of women who have had social and cultural significance but have not been recognized.

It is intended to work jointly on gender equality.

This inicaitiva is framed in the Municipal Plan of Equality.

The exhibition will be at the Cultural Center of New Javalí until 23 May, at 16 hours to 21 hours.
