The Equality Commission of the City of Murcia continue working to incorporate each municipal service tools and operating procedures in order to develop gender from each municipal service;
and to ensure equal opportunities and promote affirmative action for women.
The Commission, chaired by Councilman Equality Policies, Alicia Barquero, are representatives from all the departments of the City.
Among the proposals for this year include:
-Adoption of the Decree establishing the obligation to incorporate equal opportunities between genders special conditions of execution of public contracts to perform this council with companies providing municipal services.
-Shall be informed of the procedures and best practices for gender indicators are incorporated into the criteria for awarding grants.
He Equality Agency providing technical support and advice to mainstream gender strategy in municipal actions consolidated.
He basic training on indicators and risk factors of gender and of the resources available on violence against women offer.
He will work in training on gender equality and non-sexist communication.
He shall prepare and disseminate among City staff a Guide to Non-Sexist Institutional Communication.

Training Programs for training and employment of women in situations of social exclusion and victims of domestic violence.
Training in computer and information technology and communication as part of the training for employment.
-Sensitize the business community to develop equality measures in the company.
-To promote the recruitment of women at risk of social exclusion through the Job Center Municipal Local Jobs.
-Promote campaigns and advocacy on equal rights and opportunities in conferences such as the International Women's Day (8 March) and the Day to end violence against women (25 November).
-Promote gender equality and prevention of domestic violence between adults and between pupils in municipal employment programs people.
-Increase the number of schools participating in the project "Equal parts' for students of ESO and Bachillerato.
-Incorporation of gender equality in the Educo contest for Equality for Schools and Primary.
-Facilitate the prevention of violence among adolescents with competition 'Violence is not cool'.
-Maintain project 'People's History', which brings to light the story of women who have excelled in the lives of their neighborhoods and districts.
-Design of a tour in the specific city women in history.
-Agreement with the Parish to the proposed names of new streets keep equal ratio women / men.
-Municipal museums exhibits showing evenly distributing the research, scientific and artistic production of men and women.
-Programming Network Auditoriums disseminate works that include breaking gender stereotypes and violence prevention.

The Municipal Plan for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men of the City of Murcia was passed in 2010 and allowed to start the progressive incorporation of a gender perspective and the principle of equal opportunities between genders in municipal policies.
The Equality Commission is the body that monitors the Plan.
The purpose of these actions is to ensure and promote equal rights and opportunities for women and men in the municipal action, modifying those practices and actions that could produce gender discrimination.
