Murcia City Council, through the Office of the bike, headed Adela Martinez-Cache, continues to advance its goal of making the bike every day to be more present in the lives of the citizens of the town of Murcia.
Now, thanks to an agreement between the council Adela Martinez-Cache, and Francisco Sanchez, president of the Local Youth Council of Murcia, Murcia youth spaces will have access to municipal bikes completely free.
They may request the free bike hire all those young people who are doing a workshop or course, as well as those members of youth associations develop their meetings in the spaces 585m2 and El Palmar.
To enable young people to have this means of transport for free, the Office of the bike has been made available to these youth centers a total of 50 bikes municipal ownership.
Those interested will have to fill a form in youth spaces on presentation of petition.
The bikes will be located at both centers and the applicant may request them for a maximum period of 15 days.
The campaign to free bicycles will be launched next Tuesday, May 20, and runs until December 31.
With the launch of this new service, the Local Youth Council wants to work with the Office of the bike at the aim of encouraging and promoting the use of bicycles as well as offering a complementary service and highest quality at the most 1,500 young people each month participate in courses and workshops.
Users that also have to be added also participate through the 140 associations that have constant and daily activity in youth spaces.
Last year, a total of 13,300 youth in the municipality participated in a youth activity spaces 585m2 and El Palmar.
Regarding 585m2, one might note that the average monthly participation of young people is 765, the average age is 22 years old and have been a hundred in total partnerships that have been at the center developing activities.
