On 28 May last year opened its doors the Museum of the Cathedral of Murcia seven months after being closed for lack of funding.

Since then there have been many activities that have been carried out to raise awareness of the artistic heritage of the museum and the Cathedral.

Each month, from the museum have been proposed thematic tours, lectures and parts of the month, displayed in the museum for 30 days and from different parishes or monasteries of the Diocese.

Great night successful were the tower of the Cathedral last summer visits, which led to success has to be extended the deadline twice.

Again this summer, during the months of June, July and August, these night the tower two days a week visits will take place.

On the occasion of the celebration of the first year following its reopening, the Cathedral Museum is organizing two activities next week, by the concert D. Carlos Rafael Pérez: a conference to be held on Wednesday, May 21 at 19:30 hours, on the body of the Cathedral;

and Thursday, May 22, at 20:00 pm, the concert "Bach, Bach always."

Admission to the concert will be performed by the square of the Cross.

In addition, during the Night of the Museums on Saturday the Museum will open the Cathedral, uninterruptedly, from 9:00 to 00:00.

Visitors will also enjoy live music.

The technical director of the museum, Francisco José D. Joy, greatly appreciates the course of this year stating that the efforts of the museum and the Cathedral has been rewarded by the good reception between Murcia and tourists from all scheduled activities.

The regular schedule of visits to the museum are: Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 to 13:00 and 17:00 to 20:00;

and Sunday, from 10:00 to 13:00.

Admission to the museum costs three euros per person and two euros, reduced rate for pensioners, students, unemployed and disabled.

If a one hour guided tour of the museum, the cathedral and the tower is preferred, the price increases to five euros, four in reduced rate.
