Over 1,300 children participate each year in the Project Activities with Children and Adolescents (PAI) and the summer school organized by Social Welfare for children aged between 6 and 12 years, at risk of social exclusion.
Activities take place on 34 points different town school hours.
Summer schools are held during the month of July when the school year ended, in order to offer children alternatives to leisure and free time, leisure and education to promote personal development and active participation basis to prevention, intervention and detect situations of risk or social exclusion, promoting healthy habits through teamwork, play, physical activity and sport, culture and creativity.
The PAI program performs extracurricular activities focused on teamwork, improving coexistence, increased self-esteem, respect for the environment, tolerant attitudes, provide space for meetings with parents, promote the proper use of new technologies, activities facilitate the participation of immigrant children or socially disadvantaged backgrounds and risk and facilitate the reconciliation of work and family life.
The City Council has approved the specific administrative clauses and technical requirements for contracting this service provided from January to May and from October to December during 2014 and 2015. Planned investment is 500 544 euros.
