Coinciding with the month of the Virgin, the Cathedral Museum offer themed tour for May as "Mary in the Cathedral", a journey that will allow visitors to discover the main Marian images that preserves the cathedral church and its museum, knowing the different titles , history and devotion of the people towards them Murcia.
This visit will take place on Saturday 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 May, for the price of 6 euros, after booking the museum reception or phone 968 219 713. Tours begin every Saturday at 10:30 hours in the Plaza de la Cruz.
During this month there will be two parts in the Cathedral Museum focus all your attention.
The first is the use of Diurnale Romanum for the Diocese of Cartagena, a printed edition of the Diurnal Diocese of printing 1777 Philip Teruel, preserved in the Cathedral Archive, where an engraving of the image of Our Lady of Peace appears (missing in 1854).
The other piece to highlight this month is the altarpiece of the Virgin of the Milk Modena Barnabas.
And every month a conference on art, on this occasion will be held by Mr. Cristóbal Belda Navarro, Professor of Art History at the University of Murcia, who will speak on "The works of the Cathedral of Murcia and the Central Commission Monuments ".
The conference will take place, with free entry, on May 14 at 19:30.
