The coach of Atletico Madrid, Germán Burgos, was the person in charge of testing during clebración of a football match, the application that Murcia Institute of Technology (ITM), UCAM-dependent organization, has developed to the Google Glass and allowing access técncios sporting multitude of statistics in real time.
This is a project in which the Catholic University of Murcia is working with the Football League and the company Mediapro.
The application is currently in pilot phase, although it was already tested during Atletico Madrid-Getafe last weekend.
This technology allows the user to obtain statistics such as shots on goal, total and partial possession of the last five minutes, the number of fouls committed by both teams, the number of passes broken down into short and long, in addition to the precision that they have had, or exactly the time remaining to the end of the meeting, among other data.
This application provides an opportunity for coaches to have a tool that facilitates decision-making and providing them with valuable information.
Currently, the application that the ITM has developed for this project by the LFP and Mediapro only provides equipment data, but is expected to later can have custom stats with each of the players to technicians can evaluate their performance more accurately.
The results obtained from the pilot test last weekend have been very good and have satisfied the expectations that the UCAM, the LFP and Mediapro had put into this application.

Innovating with Google Glass
But this is not the only initiative that is developing UCAM for Google Glass.
A few months ago, the Catholic University of Murcia and hosted the first course in the world for this device developers, and there are several initiatives comprising different scientific disciplines beyond sport.
