The Department of Environment, directed Adela Martinez-Cache, has organized for the 4th and 5th of June the first conference "Smart Cities: Opportunities for environmental innovation", which aim to reflect the present and future of the local environment .
These days, they are intended for all professionals interested in the efficient and sustainable management of natural and energy resources, is to pay particular attention to the different social actors, organizations and businesses that promote sustainable development through innovation and the use of best available technologies.
During these two days is to give a proper forum for quiet and thoughtful discussion on the various challenges and opportunities posed by the immediate future.
The conference will feature several speakers representing various public administrations, agencies and representative companies in the field of sustainable urban development and energy efficiency.
It is an ambitious program to exchange experiences and share knowledge with the goal of further developing the concept of 'smart city', which addresses important aspects, among others, as: energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, development and implementation of information technology and communications (ICT) as a tool to facilitate and support the provision of services.
