José Orihuela Calatayud, Professor of Mathematics, will be the next president of the University of Murcia, after winning the second round of elections today Juan María Vázquez Rojas, Professor of Medicine and Animal Surgery.
Professor Orihuela obtained 50.16% of the votes, 49.84% who got Vázquez, and José Antonio Cobacho replace, which has been at the forefront of this institution in the past eight years.
According to the electoral calendar approved at the time by the Governing Council of the University, tomorrow, Thursday, August 10, it may appeal to the proclamation of the provisional successful candidate, who has made today.
The final proclamation is set for next April 14.
