"I've lost my fear, I'm able to love me more."
With these words, Ana Bernal, one of the students of the 2nd year of the program Capacitas defines its passage by the Catholic University of Murcia.
Right now is conducting practices as warden at Mesa del Castillo Hospital, and like her other eleven students with disabilities are enrolled in their practicum in the city of Murcia, Novotel, Bankinter, in Eulen Cartagena, in Kindergarten El Mirador and in schools San Pedro Apostle, Santa María del Carmen and San Vicente de Paul.
It is in this school where two students are undertaking tasks concierge and room attendant: Ana and Barbara.
"Going through Capacitas has been a wonderful experience, my dream was to go to college," says Barbara.
Practices in different sectors
The student Alejandra Alcaraz is currently performing in Novotel administrative assistant.
"When I walked in I was not expecting Capacitas have teachers who would fight me for my dreams. Capacitas is the most wonderful thing that ever happened to me," he says.
Ramon is another program Capacitas students.
Started last year and this year is carrying out practices in the city of Murcia.
"I'm happy to do things for myself. I feel like my brother," says Ramon.
The Capacitas program, which runs for two academic years, began in 2012 with a dozen students, a number that has doubled this year with the addition of other twelve young.
The objectives of this program are diverse, such as research, awareness of employers or job prospecting, and therefore has a large number of teachers in the fields of education and psychology.
This initiative began with laCátedra 'Montoro German for the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities', created by UCAM to laFundación GMP proposal.
"The training throughout life is also valid for those with intellectual disabilities. Immersion in UCAM of these students respond to the rights of persons with disabilities to a real and genuine equality of opportunity," said Maria del Mar Pintado, Director of the Chair.
The registration period for Capacitas program ends on April 27.
