The Hall of the City Hall Annex building will host on April 10 the day 'Municipalities against new urban pest' in which more than 120 technicians from municipalities and companies throughout Spain.
The purpose of the conference is to address, from the municipal action, information and control strategies of the new species that have colonized the territory and others, although they are known, have emerged or have news in your solution.
The event will emphasize the plague of 'Aedes albopticus' commonly known as tiger mosquito.
This native species of Southeast Asia is a mosquito-catching about 5 mm can be found outdoors and in places with small amounts of water such as plant saucers jugs and takes advantage of human origin points for playback.
The 'female mosquitoes' are responsible for the bite because they need human blood to complete the maturation of eggs.
Their bites persist more than normal and may cause mosquito yellow fever or dengue.
To advise and enlighten attendees about the tiger mosquito, the day will feature Ruben Well Marí, director in Spain of the European Association for mosquito control, who will give a lecture on the importance of this species.
Also, in a later round table, specialized technicians municipalities of Murcia, Barcelona, ​​Palma de Mallorca, Mazarron present their experiences in the control and monitoring of Aedes Albopticus'.

Pest Control Service Zoonosis
The Department of Social Welfare and Health, through the area of ​​Zoonosis, is responsible for implementing the procedures and actions related to the control of diseases transmitted from animals to man or those in which the animals, whether domestic or diseases are involved in transmission.
Disinfestation jobs in the town are held in different areas:
- Campaign cockroach control: The Department, through the company Lokímica, starts a treatment program designed to reduce the populations of these insects.
To do one's work running public sewers, and usual nesting place of refuge the most important species (Periplaneta americana).
Thus, there have been consistent treatments spraying manholes and covers sewers, which seek control of that species in the sewer without this treatment involves a special risk of exposure to pesticides for the population.
The products used are low impact insecticides trying, through greater attachment to the substrate molecule, which is the least impact to surface and groundwater.
