The Councillor for the Environment, Adela Martinez-Cache this morning attended the Second Harvest Festival, a gathering of special relevance for all stakeholders in the agricultural activity of the Leisure Gardens.
This activity involves a morning of coexistence in the Garden of the Gardens of Castellar, in Churra, in which participants have contributed Gardens Leisure products obtained in plots grown for display and offer their expertise to others.
Also shown good culinary skills of huertanos providing dishes using recipes produce they grow.
There are currently 68 sites in operation and 21 schools with garden within the municipal program Network leisure gardens and school of the city of Murcia.
The council has recognized the efforts of all those involved in this project, allowing three premiso: one to dish made most original and innovative, another the more traditional, and a third, the most comprehensive basket of products grown in Leisure orchards.
Each of these awards is valued at 100 euros.
Similarly, Martinez-Cache announced that during this 2014 offering leisure gardens more plots in different districts of the municipality will be enhanced.
Also this morning is scheduled workshops 'Preparation and implementation of Biopharmaceuticals through drip or sprinkler' and 'construction, installation and operation of a fertilizer for the garden', Francisco Javier Sánchez Single, teacher and organic farmer.
Have also been carried out related to playground garden.
The Municipal Orchards Leisure crops are intended to nonprofit, where the social benefits of this type of orchards with environmental and economic benefits associated with the conservation of local endangered varieties and maintaining a strong interest agroecosystem combine as is the former Huerta de Murcia.
