The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, chaired last night's event organized by the Federation of Social Centres for the Elderly Municipality of Murcia for the election and coronation of Senior Queen 2014 and her four bridesmaids.
Along the Mayor and candidate for election, attended the event the Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare and Health, María del Carmen Pelegrin, and the President of the Federation of Senior Centers, Simon Párraga Martinez.
After a close vote by the jury, was proclaimed Queen of Older 2014 Maria Petra Martínez male, representative of the municipal center of San Basilio, who will be accompanied throughout the year by four bridesmaids: Dolores Campillo, St. Pius X (1st lady), Concepción García Sánchez, Los Dolores (2nd), Trinidad Yelo, Santiago and Zaraíche (3rd) and M ª Concepción Guirao, Zarandona (4th).
In this new edition were presented 29 candidates associated with senior centers in their respective neighborhoods and districts.
Starting today and throughout the year, will star in five acts to organize the largest in the municipality, whether festivals, cultural weeks, etc.
The dinner, held at the Restaurante La Torre, Bacons Bridge, brought together more than 650 people.
Before starting the agape, the 29 candidates held a parade down the catwalk, installed in the lounge, and the City received a badge that was imposed by the Mayor and a bouquet of flowers.
