"Colombia is a country that has been transformed."
Under that premise, Fernando Carrillo, ambassador of Colombia in Spain, offered on Friday morning a conference at the Catholic University of Murcia, in which he highlighted the growth of the "five percent" and job creation that his country is generating thanks mainly to "the reformist ability of new generations of Colombians."
In this sense, Carrillo said that Colombia was "unworkable and stigmatized" country, but economic stability and social reforms led her to become a "major player globally," and that is projected as one of the gleaming states Latin America.
Additionally, he said that currently "Colombia represents the gateway to Latin America. Here, students will find a developing economy, an emerging country that is very foreign. Spaniards are always welcome, both at universities and in companies" .

The ambassador highlighted the role of universities in the overall development of society, and has called it "wonderful" that the UCAM start up this type of conference.
"Globality imposes that the dialogue is not only between states but also between universities, teachers and students," he said.
