The ONG'D Carmelita Karit Solidarity for Peace shows the reality of Timor Leste in a photographic exhibition that opened today at the Municipal Center García Alix.
Karit assists in development cooperation projects in this country since 1996.
Timor Leste's independence from Indonesia in 2002, and has since gone through many difficulties.
Photographs of the exposoción show scenes of everyday life.
Karit is working on education and health, among other areas.
The pictures are made by the volunteer St. Joseph Javier Hernandez in the summer of 2012.
This exhibition is part of activities organized by the Department of Political Equality and Development Cooperation, directed Alicia Barquero within its Educating in Development program.
The exhibition will be open until March 28 at the Municipal Center García Alix, from Monday to Friday from 9 to 12 am and from 16.30 to 21.30.
Interested persons may make donations that will be targeted at projects in Timor Leste Karit.
Karit, Solidarity for Peace, an organization linked to the Carmelite family that promotes solidarity and awareness of situations of inequality.
