Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has earned the top spot in the "Saving and Efficiency Commitment", the area of ​​the Technical Unit of the University of Murcia called to recognize the involvement of universities with the austerity measures implemented by competition the institution since 2009.
In 2013, Veterinary saving was 14.2% in electricity and water 32% over the previous year, also obtaining the highest percentages of schools in reduced spending on printing paper.
During the awards ceremony, held today at the premises of the Technical Unit and chaired by the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, the faculties of Biology and Psychology have also received two special mentions for their effort saver.
The competition, which has taken as indicators of consumption of electricity, water, telephone and maintenance, among others, have reviewed the level of participation of the governing bodies of each center, who voluntarily have proposed new savings measures in their buildings and have passed on to their students and staff.
The commitment to saving this course will remain in effect with the start of the third edition of the competition.
