Next summer the citizens of the municipality of Murcia may travel in any of the lines of municipal and regional public transport, both the village as districts, with the same bonus.

This was announced today by the Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Sevilla, and the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, following the signing of the protocol for the implementation of transport titles shared by the concessionaire of Murcia Passenger Transport, Tram Murcia and Transport UTE Murcia, whose representatives were also present at the event.

"For the regional government this arrangement is, without doubt, a decisive step towards the integration of public transport in the region, for which we will promote intermodality, as recommended by the European directives, which allow the creation of cities more modern, more accessible to citizens and more sustainable from environmental point of view, "said the adviser.

The agreement will mean better coordination and management of public transport in the municipality, through the introduction of bonds by sharing the three current concessionaires regular passenger.

"Thus, all users are allowed transhipment between the two bus companies and Transport Latbus Murcia, Murcia and the tram," said Antonio Sevilla.

Similarly, both administrations undertake to coordinate technology development platforms necessary for the achievement of those titles shared transportation.

In addition, the Minister stated that this agreement the basis for the second step in establishing intermodal public transport, as they are already working on the integration and unification of which are valid throughout the Region of Murcia tariff titles.

Implementation of shared bonds

The implementation of shared transport bond use therefore is divided in two phases.

Phase 1, which will run for four months, will involve the creation and configuration of tickets shared 100 Bono, Bono numerous and General Business and Shared Bono (in the municipality of Murcia) in the form of 'wallet card' .

In Phase 2, which will also last four months, all the parties to develop the necessary configuration to incorporate new integrated and unified tariff titles that are valid throughout the Region.

The protocol is the result of various meetings held since November 2013 between government and the three dealerships regular public transport of passengers have already signed up to this protocol.
