The Mayor, accompanied by the Minister of Education, Universities and Jobs, this morning visited the center, which will replace the old school.
Construction has been carried out by the Autonomous Community, while the City provided the land, valued at 1.1 million euros, and executed the works of adequacy of access, with a cost of 240,000 euros.
The nearly 400 students CEIP Our Lady of Sorrows, El Raal, premiered a new school after the Easter holiday and Spring Festival, when completed construction works are being finalized.
The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and the Minister of Education, Universities and Employment, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, this morning visited the building, accompanied by the President of the Municipal Board, Mariano Gonzalez and Councillor for Education, Lola Sanchez .
Mayor House highlighted the collaboration between the two governments to "take forward projects that improve services and welfare of the citizens."
The work has had a budget of € 3 million and has been funded entirely by the Autonomous Community, while the City Council has given the land to build the equipment, with an area of ​​11,600 square meters and a value of 1.1678.000 euros .
With these assignments the Council aims to meet the needs of the school population in the levels of infant and primary municipality.
In addition to providing the land, the City also invested 240,000 euros in the works of adequacy of access, where sanitation facilities, catering, lighting and paving included.
The new school will offer two educational lines, with 6 classrooms for children and 12 primary and will have capacity for 450 children.
Construction of the center will replace the old facilities of CEIP Our Lady of Sorrows, which are outdated and badly damaged, and replace them with the new building which is situated in a very next plot.
The building occupies a ground floor porches, two sports courts, 16 parking spaces and 7,000 square feet of free zones.
Also, it has been specially treated in its design to maintenance, in order to reconcile the maximum operating economy with durability.
The units have fully adapted for disabled motoric.
The center will consist of three blocks, porches annexed by:
- Block C. 6 kindergarten classrooms, multiple classroom / psychomotor uses, staff room and classroom for splittings.
- Block B: Three storey primary school 12 classrooms, a computer room, AMPA room, staff room, offices, library, classrooms for educational support and alternative uses (languages, music, audiovisual resources, etc. are distributed .).
- Block A: Multipurpose room, gym and auxiliary facilities.
CEIP also Our Lady of Sorrows, El Raal has another public school, the CEIP Torreteatinos, where they study about one hundred students in kindergarten and primary.
