The Women's Center of El Carmen is giving a workshop of jewelry for that members learn to develop their own handmade jewelry of various colors with brass and nickel silver.
Councilmember Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, here training workshop that lasts 25 hours and is performed on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 13 hours.
Twelve women participated in this initiative that Jesus taught master craftsman Joy and Carmen García Gómez, Goldsmith Tabil.
The purpose is to provide the craftsmanship and the people who do know their environment and work behind a piece of craftsmanship that are unique and exclusive jewelry made entirely by hand.
The students of El Carmen workshop held an assembly of pendant, bracelet and earrings, and another piece of own design.
Women draw the piece, cut with the blade or scissors, and the liman sanded, drilled the necessary holes, and on the basis of lead with a hammer chiseling give texture and volume.
Finally the Polish, the grind and give it a bath lacquer.
The whole process is manual and craftsman and is supervised by teachers.
