The EOG Henarejos Ana Sanchez, a student at the Faculty of Informatics, University of Murcia, work has won the second prize in the category of Research Awards Privacy 2013.
This study, led by professors José Luis Fernández institution Murcia German Ambrosio Toval, collect a catalog of good computer security habits for health professionals and a method for assessing the compliance of data protection.
57 security requirements, each with a guide to compliance and acceptance criteria are included in it, which has been attended by health staff General Hospital Universitario Reina Sofía de Murcia, to check their actual achievement.
The results of the study showed that, while there is great concern about security, privacy of personal health data and compliance level of the organization, "there is much work to do in regards to the awareness of workers and training them. "
Ana Sánchez concludes that although there is a legal and technical coverage ensuring security and privacy of these data, it is necessary to "engage and actively educate workers on safe habits information processing."
The awards, which recognize the work that promotes further the knowledge and research of the fundamental right to data protection, will take place on March 14 at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
