The public school Luis Costa has received this morning Equality in Sport Award 2014, awarded by the Department of Political Equality and Development Cooperation to promote mass participation of girls in sport.
79% of the students of this center are active School Sports municipal program.
Councilmember Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, this morning attended the school for delivery of sports equipment worth 1,000 euros (of which 500 euros has been provided by Cajamar).
In addition, the award consists of a plaque 'Equality Murcia' to place in a prominent central location, and a diploma will be awarded at the official ceremony to be held tomorrow in the Plenary Hall.
This award recognize schools and teachers who have encouraged greater participation of girls in teams and activities School Sports program.
The value of competition among female students is promoted, we try to break gender stereotypes in the practice of competitive sport since childhood and the principle of equality of opportunity is promoted.
