The Full Council of Murcia approved with votes in favor and UPyD PP and PSOE and IU abstaining, a motion with the manifest March 8, International Women's Day, to be read on 6 March in Institutional Act to be held in the Plenary Hall of the city of Murcia.

"International Women's Day is a commemorative date should serve to reflect and analyze on the need to advance the achievement of equality between women and men in all areas.
Today, March 8, remember the 129 workers who died in 1904 charred in a fire at the factory where they worked and which had been locked to demand better working conditions.
Today, March 8, once again, millions of women around the world raise their voices to denounce injustices and demand their rights.
It's been more than a century full of claims, struggles, sacrifices, but also filled with hope because there are many challenges achieved.
Anonymous men and famous women, all players in the commitment to the fight against the privileges and its commitment to equal opportunities.
Today we present to all women: mothers and wives, young and old, women workers inside and outside the home, widows, housewives, disabled women ...
And do not forget about all the women who have been murdered by their partners or former partners.
All of them will always remain in the consciousness of the Spanish society because his cruel death of us has our dignity.
In difficult times such as we are experiencing, the word has no place resignation, and if the desire to excel.
Therefore, in the campaign this year by the city of Murcia, under the motto "365 days equal", we will conduct a program of activities aimed at all citizens, in order that the woman is the true shape.

- Disseminate gender equality through media municipal information.
- Influence the training of women for their personal development, professional development and participation in society on an equal basis, through the development of training plans.
- Reducing the gender gap in access to training and use of new technologies.
- Develop actions to reduce occupational segregation and promote the economic independence of women, through awareness campaigns and activities of academic work advice, and through the annual call for obtaining distinctive "Company Murcia Equality" .
- To facilitate entry into the labor market of women at risk of social exclusion.
- Encourage and promote reconciliation of family, work and personal life.
- Promote the health of women.
- Develop workshops and training activities to facilitate and increase the responsibility of men in the field of family care.
- Encourage and promote the association of women as a strategy to increase their social participation.
- Ensure dissemination of educational models based on equality between women and men, through the program "Equal parts".
- Acknowledge the participation and contribution of women in Murcia historic town with the construction of the project "People's History".
- Visible the artistic, cultural and scientific productions of women.
- Increase the participation of women in municipal sports programs.
Educate and inform the public to the prevention of violence through programs and training activities and awareness. "
