The residents of Barrio Espinardo Holy Spirit will have a mediation service to try to resolve any disputes through dialogue.
The Governing Board has given the green light to the award of the Program peaceful coexistence, community mediation and equal opportunities to the joint venture formed by the Association The Association Casica and exurb.
The service is intended to foster dialogue, mediation and self-management of differences and conflicts as strategies for enhancing citizen security and the development of specific training and awareness aimed at increasing the participation of girls and young women, especially Roma.
The action program will be aimed at achieving the following objectives:
- Encourage local coexistence and social relations based on trust between people of different ethnic groups as key to improving social cohesion in the neighborhood of the Holy Spirit items.
- Articulate mechanisms for the prevention and resolution of conflicts by applying positive working dynamic, favoring a more plural citizenship, recognition of the other and the rapprochement between the parties and promote the creation of self-help groups and needs to solve and the pursuit of common interests.
- Support by Process training the municipal officers and other public services involved in the neighborhood, technicians and contractors mediators in the resolution and / or prevention of conflicts in the context of a joint action strategy.
- Guiding the actors involved in the implementation of projects on the implementation of equal opportunity and nondiscrimination in the actions assigned to them to help improve the effective participation of minorities and especially women and girls in education, employment and cultural activities so as to seize the opportunities that society offers to its development.
The program will run Monday through Friday, in evenings and Saturday day 2 hours, adapting it to the particular needs of the activities and participants.
After the various actions undertaken in the district, identified the need to influence more directly in these appearance due to the peculiarities presented by the area of ​​operation and are determined by large inequalities detected in the education and employment areas marked in the Roma with entrenched customs regarding male and female roles.
The fact of belonging to a culture in which prevails the male role within the group, prejudices about this ethnic group are summed.
