The Socialist councilor Susana Hernández defend in Parliament this month a motion asking the local government to start the process to build a new library El Palmar, as the current, Pelagius Ferrer, built in 1984, does not have sufficient capacity to service to the municipality that exceeds 23.0000 inhabitants largest parish.
"We believe it is time to raise the construction of a library in El Palmar which may be located near the youth center in order to strengthen the provision of public facilities in the hamlet," says the mayor of the PSOE.

Also, ask the municipal PP Hernández that urgently adapt the current library for people with disabilities to seamlessly access the upper floors, where the reading room is located, which can be raised only through of steep stairs which makes it impossible to use this facility to people with disabilities.
"Not even has an elevator as in other similar libraries municipal network" denounces Hernandez, who recalls that both the Socialist Group, and representatives of the PSOE in the village, spent years denouncing this problem, but to date has been given a solution.
Finally, the socialist mayor also regrets that today the current library continues with a tiny budget of bibliographic and audiovisual funds and no computers that access the Internet.
