The Catholic University of Murcia taught as a novelty, starting next month, the Proper Degree in Geographic Information Systems with ArcGIS software
The UCAM held tomorrow Thursday, January 16th, with the company Esri, the First Conference on Applications of Geographic Information Systems in the workplace.
During the same, industry professionals will present the latest developments in the application of these systems to areas such as criminology or water management.
Professor of Criminology Research Center at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Esther Fernández Molina, be the first to speak, and will present the main applications of GIS in criminological research.
It should be noted that the rapporteur presented as an example an analysis of the spatial distribution of crime phenomenon in the city of Albacete.
On the use of these applications and Remote Sensing in Water Management, will speak Professor Engineering School of CPC of Ciudad Real, Solomon Montesinos Aranda.
The Chief of the Mapping Department of Public Works and Planning CARM and coordinator Own Degree in Geographic Information Systems with ArcGIS that offer the UCAM, Pablo García Ramón, will give the lecture "Applications of GIS in analysis, use and exploitation of public contents of the Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Region of Murcia (IDERM) "; theme also will speak about the group responsible SIGyT Murciano Agricultural Research Institute (IMID) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water (CARM), Manuel Erena Arrabal.
In relation to the subject to be treated, it must be stressed that the UCAM has in its training catalog, as new, with the Proper title Geographic Information Systems with ArcGIS software, which will start delivering the next February.
