Cardinal Vincenzo Paglia, president of the Pontifical Council for the Family, held a first meeting with the university president, José Luis Mendoza, and the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Monsignor Jose Manuel Lorca Planes, with the aim of advance preparations for the holding of an international conference on the family, to be held in May on the campus of Jeronimos and will be coordinated by the two institutions.
Monsignor Paglia has used his visit to the UCAM to go to hundreds of students at the University who were participating this morning in the temple, in a supportive workshop.
The cardinal said that "the UCAM is a unique university, which expresses very clearly the importance of evangelizing work among people who need it most, both in the immediate environment and in the most distant countries."
The cardinal, in the presence of President of the UCAM, has also emphasized that "the culture, politics and economics are superficial, do not understand the wealth of the family, which is the best resource for society."
It should be noted that the Italian cardinal is president of the pontifical council since 2012, when he replaced Cardinal Ennio Antonelli.
